Dominion Voting System (currently Liberty Vote)

Public trust in our voting machines has declined, leading to doubts about the integrity of our election process—from Stacey Abrams’ complaints in 2018 to President Trump’s concerns in 2020 to the multiple errors occurring in the 2022 & 2024 elections in Georgia.  As the only candidate with government purchasing and procurement experience, I will evaluate the existing Dominion Voting Systems contract to find a way to exit or terminate the agreement, without penalty.  Current Georgia code states the voting system must produce paper ballots which are marked with the elector’s choices in a format readable by the elector (human).  The current Dominion Voting System produces QR/Bar codes that are read by tabulators…not by a human.  Since Georgia code nullifies any contract to do an immoral or illegal thing, under these grounds we will pursue termination.

I will pursue alternative voting technologies that do not share the same vulnerabilities, and are readily available for public inspection, while requiring paper ballots. This approach will improve efficiency and provide complete audit capabilities (not risk limiting audits), helping to restore public confidence in our elections.

Voter rolls

Voter roll maintenance should be an ongoing, transparent process that involves voters and allows them to check their status easily.  Purging 400,000 voters at once is inefficient and increases the risk of errors. Requiring voters to update their registration on short notice during an election year undermines trust in our electoral process and raises concerns about whether their votes will count. Before sending demand letters, I will ensure voters ability to verify their registration status online or by contacting the Secretary of State’s office year-round, giving them ample time to address any issues.

Additionally, I will withdraw Georgia from the costly Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) system which is essential for cleaning our voter rolls. Funding this third-party service which sources beyond our oversight while serving less than half the states is expensive, poses privacy concerns, and is ineffective…a waste of our tax dollars. We should establish direct relationships with Secretary of State in each state to cross-check voter data and ensure our voter rolls are as accurate as possible. This approach will save taxpayers money and provide a straightforward, up-to-date process for maintaining clean voter rolls.

Paper Ballots

Long are the days of paper only. But no paper at all is not the option. There is a way to secure our elections by using hand-marked paper ballots.  Georgia’s election security issue can only be remediated with hand-marked paper ballots, publicly recorded hand counts and full public transparency of all results.  This aligns with current Georgia code which states the voting system must produce paper ballots which are marked with the elector’s choices in a format readable by the (human) elector.  I will utilize presently established emergency procedures to conduct the 2028 elections utilizing hand-marked paper ballots and election certification occurring only after hand counting.

Business licensing

Georgia’s Secretary of State manages business formations and the licensing process for industries that include more than 40 occupational licenses.   If Georgia truly desires to be the #1 state for business, then expediting our licensing process, improving the SOS website to be customer-friendly, and reducing the number of hurdles required to start and maintain a business or nonprofit in Georgia must be a priority. Through process streamlining, education and training of SOS staff, and expanding privatization methods to speed up the review and approval process, I will cut through Government “Red Tape” and make the SOS office a true partner for business.

Securities Oversight- Protecting our Seniors

Ponzi schemes and fraudulent investment scams negatively impact many Georgians when proper paperwork is not filed with the securities regulators at the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.  Routine reviews of these filings are critical for protecting hardworking Georgians.  I will take seriously the role of overseeing the offer and sale of securities while ensuring compliance with Georgia Securities Act to protect each citizen investor in Georgia.
